Meet Shelby, Account Manager at Stord!

What do you do at Stord?

I am an Account Manager for our freight team

What did you do before Stord?

I’ve been in the freight world for a little over a decade. I was an account manager for a subsidiary of the railroad.

Why did you choose Stord?

I strongly believe in order for the supply chain sector to advance, we need to more heavily embrace the intersection of technology and logistics. Stord is leading the way in what I believed was really needed in an industry that can be extremely archaic and stuck sometimes.

What do you like most about your job?

Every day is a new challenge and adventure. At the end of every day, we get to help customers solve problems, and it’s fun to figure out the puzzles.

How has Stord changed since you joined?

We have grown exponentially! Way more employees, Fulfillment Works acquisition, unicorn status, and we are still at day 1.

What excited you most about the year ahead?

Watching our freight accounts grow and bringing on even more logos to celebrate in the next year.

What departments do you collaborate with? What is that like?

A little bit of everyone. From the supply team within freight, integrations, implementations, customer success, accounting, and everyone else in between. It’s incredible having so many different parts of the process housed in our company.

What cross-functional projects have you been involved in?

From hand unloading a truck and packing up orders for Attn:Grace at the office, getting our first shipments to the Atlanta fulfillment center, launches for Knack and Believe Diapers, I have loved getting to watch our customers who use all parts of the company go from questionnaires about packaging to go-live day dates and fulfilling orders beyond that. Even getting to be a small piece in these larger puzzles is extremely rewarding to watch the team succeed.

What’s your favorite part about the Stord culture?

There is always more to learn and always someone willing to teach. I’ve been in the industry a long time and there isn't a single day here that I don’t learn something new or see something from a new perspective.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I read, spend time with my dog, cheer on the Braves, chase around my niece, and volunteer with Gateway Center Atlanta, whose mission is to live in a community where homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.

Stord is hiring! Check out our open roles.
